Did you know that roughly 85% of people that are “lactose intolerant” actually aren’t intolerant to lactose (which is a sugar) but their bodies actually don’t agree with the protein in the milk? There are two types of protein in milk (A1 and/or A2). They only differ by one amino acid, but this one amino acid difference makes all the difference in the world! Most cows produce the A1 protein in their milk, which is what almost all milk in your local grocery store is. Our cows only produce milk with the A2 protein in it. The A2 protein is a shorter protein than the A1 protein, making it easier to be digested and allowing people who are lactose intolerant and those who get upset stomachs from dairy to drink milk.
