Strawberry Heart Cake

Ingredients:

1 Package White Cake Mix

3 Tablespoons Flour

1 (3oz) Package Strawberry Gelatin

1/3 Cup Oil

4 Eggs

1 (10oz) Package Frozen Sweetened Strawberries, Thawed
(If using unsweetened strawberries add desired amount of sugar.)

1/2 Cup Cold Water

Frosting:

1/2 Cup Butter, Softened

5 ½ Cup Confectioners’ Sugar

Directions:

Combine cake mix, gelatin, and flour. Beat in oil and eggs. Drain strawberries, reserve 1/2 cup syrup and a few strawberries for frosting. Add berries and water to batter, mix well. Divide batter between two waxed paper-lined 8 or 9 inch baking pans, one square and one round.

Bake at 350ºF for 30-35 minutes; or till cake is done. Cool for 15 minutes. Remove from pans and cool completely.

In a small mixing bowl combine butter and reserved strawberry mixture. Gradually add sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Place square cake diagonally on a 20×15 inch covered card board. Cut round cake in half. Place sides against the top two sides of square cake to form a heart shape. Frost top and sides.
